Yes, in North AmericaVado 6 is the New Vado 5 : It's 2,3 ,4 and 5 Now : That's what I was told at Specialized :
Yes, I have. It is required in many European countries as most of EU countries treat speed e-bikes as mopeds. In the UK, you are also forced to wear a motorcycle helmet (a cycling helmet elsewhere).Stefan you have a license plate on the back of your bike? Required in Poland?

For that reasons speed e-bikes sold in Europe have a lit support for the number plate you cannot remove without removing the tail-light.
What is the difference in the Vado 4 vs 5 ?? The Battery maybe? I have ridden the Vado and Como 4 and maintaining 24-26 MPH was pretty easy .Yes, in North America

For me, as for an European, these rules seem legit. At least I'm treated by most of the drivers with due respect when I ride the Vado on public roads. Especially, when they can see my lit license plate from a long distance at night.SO some dufass that probably has a Dunlap > Makes those ridiculous Rules
Do Motorcycle Riders Have to wear Helmets in Europe? *In America they don't* Yet Bureaucrats within the Govt are trying to make laws requiring Bike rider do? That's rather backwards : It's not about safety as they claim It's about $$$$$. Always isFor me, as for an European, these rules seem legit. Hot discussions ?? LOL The only Hot discussion I'd even bother with is whether your a Born Again Christian : Who Believes Jesus is Lord : So you can ride an ebike for eternity : *That's the only discussion that matters*Yes, they do.
I don't want to go on hot discussion with you, Rick. I just want to say Europe is for the safety of you and the people around you. Perhaps that is the reason Europe has ten times as many e-bikes as the North America. People here like to have and understand the rules. Also, it seems to me Europeans understand the spirit of cycling better than many Americans. Perhaps that's why the Turbo division of Specialized is located in Cham, Switzerland instead of Morgan Hill, CA, USA.
I understand that America is a large country with huge distances. Yet, I tremble with fear when I read about kilowatt motors, throttles and the need for speed expressed by many American e-cyclists. Replace the word "freedom" with "recklessness".
P.S. I can remember the debates of 1990's when many drivers contested obligatory wearing of safety belts or having the lights on all year round.
I recently purchased an extra travel charging cable. Specialized does not offer it anymore so I found it on eBay. It is a little lighter than the original charger (not by much).I'm close to ordering the spare battery for my Vado. How many of you have got more than one battery?
My goal is to be able to make a 100+ km (62+ mi) round trip to Sochaczew via Kampinos then return way via Żyrardów. Not that Sochaczew is an interesting city because it is actually boring but it is a good goal because of the distance With my current range, that would require two batteries and riding in the Eco mode.

I have sent a request to the Specialized dealer. Will keep you informed. I am interested myself what colour options would be available. Luckily, my Vado is in grey, so in case the spare battery would be coloured differently, it might give the bike an interesting accentdid you have to order a cover to match your paint? Does it come with cover or just the battery?
I watched a YouTube showing that the battery could come without the matching plastic cover and you could screw it to the cover.I have sent a request to the Specialized dealer. Will keep you informed. My ultimate goal is covering large daily distances. If my shape improves, it might be a tour. In such case I would be swapping batteries en route and charge them at motels. If my dream comes true, I would join a tour of recumbent (acoustic) cyclists. It would be enough to keep up with them on speed (they do not ride very fast) but the key is the large distance covered on every day.
This YouTube was one of Court Rye’s review of Vado 5.Good you provide an extra information. Next question to be asked.
I joined an Emtb Forum. Seems the Bikes to have in that Category are also Specialized : They seem to set the Mold of what to copy(So bad?)
