Hello everyone,
I wanted to let others know that the latest edition of the Vado 5.0 IGH bikes come with a 22T rear sprocket. My experience was that the lowest gear still felt a little too high for my preference. My case is certainly not universal, since my commute is about 24 miles and 2,000 feet of elevation gain roundtrip, and I play a lot of sports and strength-train and so my legs are frequently tired, but others in a similar boat may find it useful to know that the 22T rear sprocket can be changed out to the Gates 24T sprocket ***without having to replace the belt!***. I confirmed this with Specialized RiderCare then took my bike to an authorized dealer to make the change after purchasing the Gates 24T sprocket myself when it was on sale.
The difference is not huge but is certainly appreciable and welcome! Of course, you lose some gearing on the top end, but for me this is not an issue because I’m riding up and down so many hills.
Happy riding!
