Greetings from Italy and best wishes to all for a happy new year. I own a BMC AMP Alpenchallenge Sport with 630 Whatt 17.5Ah battery code BT-E8016. To charge the battery I have a battery charger code EC-E6000 input 100-240V 2.5A out 40V 4A. I have seen that there is a small battery charger that can be carried with you and that allows you to charge the battery very quickly. I seem to understand that this small battery charger has code EC-E8004. In order to be used with the battery, which I seem to have understood that I must also have an adapter / plug code SM-BTE80. Attached I am sending you in my message the photo of my battery, the photo of my battery charger and the photo that I found in a manual of the Shimano BT-E8016 battery where the need to have the SM-BTE80 plug is indicated. I ask you if someone can help me to clarify and have clear indications. I hope I was clear. Thank you all.

That part you circled is the "off bike" adaptor for charging the battery when removed. That can be useful when travelling as you can't always park the bike close enough to a plug, so the adaptor lets you bring the battery inside to charge. Both chargers seem to have a very similar charge rate, so I don't see a very big difference (1/2 hour difference to full charge, no difference to 80%).

Both chargers are listed as compatible with your battery, so you should only require the adaptor to charge off the bike?

Thanks theemartymac for your reply.

Then I have to buy the EC-E8004 charger and the SM-BTE80 adapter because, as you write, if I am traveling or in impromptu situations I disconnect the battery and I can bring the battery itself close to the socket where I connected the charger. It's so true? do you have links or online sales site where I can find these components cheaply?
