kia ora all. I am based in Auckland and new to the whole E bike world. recently joined the E bike as a commuter. A few days ago my bike lights just stopped working. Switch the bike on an switched the light on with the display saying thing the light where on. The actual light where not in fact on or offering an Illumination . I have now returned it to the store as its only about 4 weeks old for a service an repair but is the a fault with this brand X24 city smarthmotion.

SmartMotion seem a decent ebike brand, and you're getting it fixed under warranty, are you asking why did the problem occur? The shop should be able to tell you if it was the wiring connector or something else, it seems your display is working correctly so likely just something mechanical they can fix. Ebikes must be a blessing in hilly New Zealand. I love that a shop in New Zealand Blackwell & Sons do a Bafang BBS01 conversion of Pashley pedal bikes, they keep using the front dynamo hub to power the lights, but modern LED's don't use much power.
