Wow. Went on one ride. Got home and rear tire exploded. I put about 66 lbs of pressure in it. It was 35 degrees outside and 72 degrees inside (i know warm air expands). Tire exploded about 20 minutes after I brought it inside (thankfully, not when i was riding it).

Since max lbs is 85 lbs of pressure, I thought I was pretty safe.

So, now i need to go to the bike shop.

$28 to get it fixed at local shop. I should have time tomorrow ($18 labor, $10 parts).

But, it's getting cold here.... not much riding weather left this season.

This would also be a good opportunity to practice changing the tire/tube yourself, if you're not familiar with doing it.

Yeah, agreed. I was hoping i could just watch the first time.

Looks to be pinched tube, as you can see a bite was taken out and it was the insider of the inner tube that bursted.

about $36 total.

The guy said having a cloth rim liner was better than nylon. It was $6 bucks, so i just did it.

I did not know that you don't have to touch the nut with the cables that come out. I would have messed that up for sure.
