Rover rear wheel removal

Every thing I’ve looked at shows to turn the bike upside down to R&R the rear wheel. How do you keep from screwing up the controls on the handle bars? Seems it might be even more damaging if out on the trail. Also how important is the little tab you have to remove from the left side, appears to be used to keep the axle in if the nut gets loose.

After reviewing a few more videos that little tab isn’t used on all of them. Going to leave mine off because the threads were stripped when I was installing my fenders, but that is another long story. :(

Regarding protecting the controls when the bike is upside down, I made a set of "donuts" out of foam packing scraps. Maybe 6-8" in diameter, 2-3" thick, they slide onto the handlebars as the bike is flipped over, supporting the weight of the handlebars while protecting the controls. Works great in the garage. Out on the trail you're pretty much stuck working on the bike while on it's side.

Thanks, did find where it is shown. Guess it does have a purpose. Funny I did see an older Rad video and it didn’t have one.
