Ride1Up 700 vs Surface604 Shred vs Voltbike Outback

Looking more towards the Surface 604 Shred, but others offer good value and was wondering what others opinion are? I prefer to have 10 speeds or less, throttle option, hydraulic brakes, comfortable, reliable and more of a weekend warrior of hard surface with occasional trail riding. The Shred seems to fit the bill in all of my categories. Like that the shred has wider tires. Not sure if I would need or even like the full suspension bike. I'm also considering the Rad Power Mission bike if it comes down to price. Likely get the wife the Rad Power Mission bike. My budget is 2500 or less and I live in Minnesota.

With that price range, you can go with a middrive bike. The REI Co-op CTY e2.2 and Yamaha Cross Core are excellent values. They don’t go as fast on flat pavement as the Surface or have a throttle but if you have any hills to contend with, any of the middrive bikes will be much more efficient.

Thank you, it's a tough match up between the Ride1Up 700 and the Shred. I have seen videos of peoples customer service responses from Ride1Up that is a bit concerning. The biggest question comes down to 600 price difference between the Ride1Up 700 and Shred.

The shred does offer some upgrades to torque sensor instead of a cadence. Bafang motor that appears to be a bit quieter (no biggie for me), little more torque.

I had a terrible experience with my surface 604 shred and especially with the dealer bike berry, after spending 25 hours trying to repair the new bike with parts they sent me it still only had a top speed of 24 mph, they finally acknowledged this, technically they should not classify this as a class 3 bike, there are better options out there.

The Shred has a 38T chainring and 12T smallest cog. The 700's top gear is much higher with a 45T chainring and 11T smallest cog so you won't have to spin the pedals so fast at high speed. I have a Ride1Up 700 and really like the power based vs. speed based PAS and the adjustable range and custom adjustment of power for each individual assist level as I like to get good exercise without the bike providing too much power. The Shred wouldn't have even made it into my list for consideration. I haven't had to deal with Ride1Up support since my bike works great to this point, but I see a lot of positive comments about their support as well as a few negative ones. Some of the Ride1Up folks participate in the Ride1Up owners group on FB, even here occasionally. Some people don't like torque sensors, and Ride1Up is actually dropping it from the LMT'D, although they may bring it back next year. I would like one if it was part of a well tuned system with smooth fast response without hesitation, like a mid-drive Bosch, Yamaha, or Brose, although the Brose motors concern me. The 700 tires seem fairly wide at 2.4" on wider rims. That's one reason I chose it over some bikes that are in the 1.95" to 2.2" range. One person who saw me with my bike actually thought they were fat tires when viewing from 30 feet or so away. But, I feel fat tires are just way too big.
