Off topic, but...
A local fella played for the Yankees in the late '30s or early 40's. He was a local diamond ballplayer. My grandfather, Softball Hall of Famer, and a local teammate were in love with the Yankees. In 1962 Gramps bought an official team jacket. He seldom wore it. When he passed and family was spitting up his property NO ONE wanted the jacket. When I asked the family jocks why they had no interest, they simply said they'd be embarrassed and laughed out of the local tavern. I sold it on eBay and bids went to over $500. I guess someone likes the Yankees...
