Recommendations for cycling rain wear?

Let me start by saying this isn't low cost rain gear. New Wheel e-bike shop in San Francisco has a nice rain suit on their site in different sizes. With a video on the site .$ 350 yes it's real nice. Getting caught a few more times drenched might have one in my kit.

Thanks ebike r2. Just read a bunch on Showers Pass rain wear. Can' t go wrong with them. Their a big notch up from most. No leaks with that gear! Thanks

this product is no longer available.

They're back up: http://www.levi.com/US/en_US/category/men/collections/levi-collections-commuter

I'm probably keeping that line going all by myself. :) After 2 years with several pairs of everything, washing them but not drying, the water resistance has really died off. Tech-waterproofing washes work well though. I'm planning on doing it every six months.

@MarinaGirl, beautiful rain cape! Really sad model though? He looks like he's going to cry...

Cheap bike rain ponchos were the fad while I was in China. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01612UPWS?psc=1
I'm going to stash one of these in a pannier for an emergency.

Bar Mitts are amazing. Hands stay warm and dry with no gloves, all winter long! They look a little goofy but the comfort and dexterity is so worth it! Easy on and off if you need to switch bikes. There is even room for a hand warmer if it is super cold where you live.

This stuff might not be available right away, but it’s reasonably priced stylish rain gear. I’d keep an eye on these guys Basil, I’ll be getting some for myself when it releases.

If you're looking for (IMHO) great rain wear check out taigaworks.ca. Jackets, pants, shoe covers, helmet covers, over gloves, gators they've got just about all you need, unless you have big feet, the shoe covers max out size 11.5.

Not the cheapest but you know the saying.

I keep getting sidelined from riding to work because of rainy forecasts. I have the Pearl Izumi Men's Elite Barrier Jacket on my Amazon wish list, but at $55, I want to make sure it's the right choice. Also, are there other rainy-weather accessories to make life a little less soggy? Things to keep other parts of of you dry?

I hate carrying too much so I have two choices I have had the mac in a sac for 20 years and they are amazing, I have three in fact.

I also carry one of these when out just in case and I don't want the M in a S, packs into the smallest pocket

I use REI branded gore-tex. Generally buy a size too big so I can fit my camelbak under it. Hood goes under the helmet. It's not the cheapest, but lasts and works like nothing I've ever tried. My old Performance Bike kit finally wore out after 20 years - we'll see how long the REI kit goes. Actually still have the Performance kit, but some seams are coming apart on the inside - outside is still fine. Use the pants too.

I wear this outfit, when it rains here, which is not too often,
One size larger than normal, hood fits over helmet, military lobster claw mittens for the hands. Always in the bike pack. ymmv
