Rear squeal sound

Today I trued my wheels and adjusted the brakes. Now when I push the bike backwards, from the rear wheel I get a loud high pitcher squealing sound with each revolution. Any ideas as to the cause? The rotor does not contact the brake pads and the wheel is "true".

Are you sure the disc isn't slightly warped? A well adjusted brake leaves very little margin for error in the disc.

Great! Glad it was simple.

Mechanical disc brakes are a fantastic value, eminently functional, simple, and reliable, but they do require a bit of extra care and attention.
