Rad Power just got $150m from investors. What will they do with it?

Yes agreed. Their line up has evolved but the designs look dated compared to companies such as Sondors which are continuously evolving with new frames, integrated batteries, mid-drives etc.
Rad's lean business model is why they are where they are today,Sonders is continuously evolving their drawings and sketches of new bikes lol, to date a Rockstar owner is like Bigfoot.

Degradation of li-ion batteries into finite recharge life-cycles, and with slow charging times, might just be due to how we are re-charging them now by plugging a "dumb" adapter into a wall socket. There are companies using AI to evolve the battery conditioning side of the recharge equation. Maybe old batteries will soon be resuscitated and reconditioned to extend useful lifespan? 45 patent applications by this de-stealthed BEV grant recipient seems to suggest that capability may be just over the horizon.

There are much simpler methods already in use by car companies and the $100 Luna charger. Charge to 80% except once a month or when overridden or whatever. Charge slowly unless the user requests fast charging (if you have say 30 miles of range and ride 10 miles a day and charge overnight, fast charging is pointless for those days) Some laptops have similar software.

Ebike companies don't do this because customers don't demand it and because it doesn't help their bottom line.

Using AI and patents honestly sounds like silly overkill when we don't even have the most basic version of battery management.

So are these a better value then the Sondors line like their Rockstar or the new LX ?

No one said anything about 5 year warranties. Think you're in the wrong thread.

I completely agree with you about Rad Power's bikes. They're missing some of the bells and whistles that other brands have. With the new $150m, I'm hoping they'll use it to invest in their technology and design. It would be cool to see them come out with some new, more advanced models.
