Purion power switch rarely powers on

I have a new Cube with Bosch Performance CX and Purion display. The problem is that the ON/OFF switch on the display only turns on intermittently. If powered on via the battery switch, all the other Purion functions work fine, including powering the bike off with the Purion switch.

I replaced the display batteries, but that made no difference.

Amazingly to me, when I returned to the dealer, 3 of 5 similar bikes in the store exhibited the same behaviour, and the suggestion was made that this is normal, and that over time the problem will go away. I've only ridden about 100 miles and charged the battery a couple of times, but the problem persists.

I've searched online but never seen this problem mentioned. Maybe the dealer got a bad batch? I'm interested to see if others with the Purion display have experienced the same issue (and hopefully, what the resolution was).

Thanks!

Thanks, yes I did look through that thread, but didn't see any mention of actual malfunction. I'm fine with the Purion otherwise as I use a Garmin to track my rides.

I would check the connection to the motor. It's possible that when Cube assembled it they didn't fully seat the connector which goes into the non-drive side of the motor.

I'd also be interested to know if the bike turns on by pressing the power button on the battery while you're experiencing this issue. That might lead to other conclusions.

Fingers crossed, the problem may have been fixed: Yesterday, I took the bike back to the dealer, as Bosch had asked him to send them a diagnostic log. When he connected to the diagnostic port, the system indicated there was a new firmware update available for my bike, so we downloaded that. Early days, but the Purion switch now has worked every time I press the ON button :)

I should have mentioned that I am in Canada, so this bike is the NA version (32kph), and yes, the switch on the battery itself works fine. Thanks.
