Purchasing advice 50+ miles per charge

The Townie is going to be tough for that range without a second battery. I own a Trek Verve +3. It has an option to add a second battery integrated into the bike, but you are looking at over $4,000 for that. On my Trek Verve+3, 50 miles is doable, 70 is not unless it’s all on eco. Me personally, I’m 60 years old, 30 some miles is the limit before my back side gets to sore.
