No. Make sure that you use some type of bike grease on the threads on the pedal before you put them on the bike. Tighten them and you will be
good to go.
The pedals will tighten as you pedal. I use Phil Wood grease that I bought at the bike shop.
The pedals are for right side and left side of the bike. They will have an R and a L stamped on the pedal. The right side turns clock wise to put it on. The left side turns counter clock wise to put it on. In other words pedals go on turning to front of bike. They come off turning to the back of the bike.
