PAS Sensor Readings

Hello,

I'm troubleshooting a friend's ebike setup and when I plug in the PAS to controller the 5vdc for throttle and PAS go to near 0 - I would expect it not to change much. If I don't plug in everything throttle, motor works as expected
I measured the resistance between the Red and Black on PAS which is 3.1Ohms - which seems too low to me for across a dc device +,- terminals.

Can anyone confirm an expected resistance reading between +,- on a PAS?

It is marked V-Series V7

I am just one person chiming in so don't trust me alone. Others will join the discussion shortly. In my opinion you should invest $7.00 on eBay to get a new PAS sensor. Usually it is just a matter of alignment the pickup needs to be within 2mm of the magnets. That is the thickness of a nickel. Before ordering, make sure that the connectors match. I see some corrosion. Could be the sensor.

If you plug in the PAS sensor and it kills the +5V power, then the sensor either has a short circuit in it, or you have the connections wrong.
