Ok, I get it now...

Latest entry in Joe's Vado blog:

Switched from the SQLabs 702 grips to the 710's in Medium, these work so much better for me.

I have given up on suspension seatposts. Had the Suntour NCX17 and started running into numerous issues with it now that it has around 1k miles. Disassembling + proper servicing did not return it to a comfortable ride. Tried a cheapo Satori Harmony post, completely sucked. Bought a Cirrus Kinect and it's too short (350mm), and it really felt bad; returned. Redshift's Shockstopper is too short (also 350mm) and requires a shim so didn't try. Rather than drop coin on Cane Creek, I reverted to the stock seatpost and am currently shopping for a carbon post. I just want the chatter gone, not interested in pogo'ing, complex linkages requiring maintenance every week due to grit in them, etc.

Interestingly, I've taken our Como on a few rides recently. I have discovered it provides a more rigorous cardio workout than my Vado. The Vado seems to push me to put down more power whereas the Como requires more rpm. I just don't care for the upright position of the Como and find putting any meaningful power down requires me to get off the saddle. It is really a fun ride, think it'd be a great car replacement to run errands and the like, and maybe take easy "fun" rides. I just find the Vado so much more engaging and a more strenuous workout, and I enjoy getting into dirt and glop on it whereas the Como is simply not fit for those conditions.

Approaching 2k miles on the Vado in 9 months and every day, it brings a smile to my face...

Hey Joe the Cirrus Kinekt 2.1 seat-post in my Vado is 420 mm.
I am aware of that length and probably should have bought it. However, I am just kinda done w/ suspension seatposts, finding even the rigid post that came on the bike is good enough with either of the SQLab seats I scored. If a simple carbon post can reduce a little chatter, I'll be an even happier rider...

Handlebar from the Vado, new pedals and tires, been swapping seats (Vado seat above. now using one of my SQLab seats). Lot of fun, plenty of work!
