I am a 67 year old long term bike rider who has not done much riding in the past 20 years...excuses, excuses.

Anyway after having a couple of cardiac arterial stents installed and a real good gut-checking near death experience, I am back on a bike.
I live at the top of a steep hill which has been a real deterrent to riding a bike, having to end every ride pushing my bike up the hill. Now that is no longer an issue. Just keep enough battery in reserve to make the home stretch a walk in the park.

EBR has been an invaluable resource in helping me choose which bike to buy. I can't begin to count the number of reviews I've read and excellent videos I have watched on The EBR site. I am actually buying two bikes...one for me and one for my wife.

The first bike arrived and hit the road this past Thursday. It is a Cube Touring Hybrid EXC 500 with a Bosch CX motor, good brakes, frame-integrated rear rack, an 11 speed, front suspension and Body Float seat suspension. This is actually a bike that was not reviewed here but it has the same running gear as the Cube Reaction, just with more of a hybrid touring/trail setup.

In the past three days since it arrived, I have put 57 miles on it and have loved every minute. This bike has started to change my life, much for the better. It will become my wife's, once the other bike is delivered from Germany, a Riese & Muller Nevo Nuvinci GH. More on that later.

Thanks Court and EBR for creating such a deep and broad information resource for this exciting technology. I look forward to learning more here on the forum and hope I can contribute something of value from time to time.
