New Turbo staying cool in Morro Bay

It was hot in my home town Paso Robles again today. So, off to cool coastal Morro Bay with the new Bike for a break from the heat and a few miles. I'm trying out some new tires, Schwable Energizer Pro's. I was so impressed with the Schwalbe Marathons I got for wet weather and our goat head thorn season I decided to get their tire designed for battery life and speed. Holly Crap......they make the bike feel 10 pounds lighter. The range is definitely up a fair amount too. I went with 700 x 35's, one of the approved tire sizes by Specialized. I grew up riding pinners on road bikes, so the narrow size didn't scare me. They also are much smoother than the monster slicks the bike came with, and the Marathon's too.....more compliant side walls. They are very responsive and stick like glue. I love Schwalbe tires, tires for every need.

Wow ,love your pics. of your new Turbo. I agree about Schwalbe tires. Check out their website , when you see the exstensive testing of their tubes and tires it shows why they are superb. I have Big Ben's on my St2, and I have never been on anything so confidence inspiring. I see why their on almost every new ebike that comes out. Your joy really comes through on your bike. The Marathon's have 3 ml. Green Guard, one of Schwable's best puncture protections. I have been pulling Goat Heads out daily for weeks with no flats so far. The Energizers have Race Guard protection, not rated quite as well. I had Big Apple's on my last bike with Race Guard and had two flats in about 2K miles, one a drywall screw, the other a concrete nail. I guess time will tell. At least tire removal is very easy on the Turbo, even the rear with the Through Axle. I carry a pump, patches, and an allen wrench to remove the rear wheel in my seat bag. Remember, most rear tire patches don't require you taking off the rear wheel, just pop the bead, slip out the tube and patch, make sure nothing is still penetrating the tire, and seal her up.

Those look nice! Any sense on how they'd do on frosty conditions? I just bought a Turbo a couple of months ago and love it. The slicks seem okay in the summer, but I"m already thinking about how to extend my riding season into winter next year.

Schwalbe has a wealth of information on their website. Look at the ebike rated tires, there are many to chose from. I have Marathons for our heavy goat head thorn season, and Energizer Pros for when the thorn subside. Both tire are much faster than the Specialized, and the Energizers have a more compliant side wall and ride smoother. The Energizers also improve the range with lower rolling resistance. Both are rated well for wet roads. They have other tires designed for snow.

Sounds like fun! Are you new to the Turbo, or have you had it a while.......are you familiar with the range and characteristics of the bike? Also, which model Turbo?
I can get 45-50 miles out of mine without trying to conserve. I'm sure probably 60 if I was milage conscious.
It's going to take some planning, the bike is no fun without power. I have never run out, just have tried riding it a few times with the motor off.
I did read about a gal that is ridding cross country, she made a solar charging trailer. It produces enough power to keep her always in power. Overkill for your ride, interesting non the less.

Somewhat new to Turbo. I have a 2015 base model.
Solar trailer looks interesting...but as you say a little much. I will try to keep daily distance 40 miles or so, then stay the evening and charge with the smaller travel charger. Really more of a recreational trip vs. a time trial. Wondering about weather and traffic in June.
