New Trek e-Bike?

Saw this on the Trek site today. Looks like a small 250wh battery. No detail on the motor. Not what I would describe as a big splash, but wondered if anyone had heard anything else.

looks awful for the price asked. Didn't Trek have ebike years ago? Maybe this is the old model.

Agreed. Path+ is cheaper, Dash same price. Doesn't look like much value. Any advantage will be in the fact Trek stores may have them to ride. Don't underestimate the value of that. At least in Ohio, it is way easier to find multiple Trek stores vs. a Currie or other e-bike dealer with an actual bike to ride.

I thought about this a bit more and should reserve judgment. After all, my Turbo "only" has a 250 watt motor. Wonder if Trek is doing something similar.

That crossed my mind as well, trying to figure out which motor Trek is using? Resembles BionX at first glance... Even if it is super powerful and quiet like the Turbo I prefer the battery integration and looks that Specialized has vs. the old fashioned rear rack style with the T80+.

Court - totally agree. I was only speaking of calling it underpowered until we get more info. But it certainly doesn't have the integrated look of a Turbo/ST-1/Neo type bike. Or the advantage of a down tube battery.

That bike looks totally halfassed. I honestly thought this is one of their earlier models. I would expect more from Trek today. Purpose built frame and or well balanced frame. The way I see it, if you put a battery on your rear rack you're not even trying...

Maybe their chief electric bike officer (or some other lead) put this out and that's why they were like... "we need better" and promptly bought Electra? That said, I'm not a huge fan of the Townie Go which also uses a rear rack
