New, to me, bikes

Sadly, our local non-profit bike shop is shutting down, though I was able to feast in their bike heap yesterday. Found these two for $30 each. I am planning to install a BBSHD on the MTB in order to feel what an ebike with suspension is like. It seems to be in really good condition, though it does need new brake hydraulics. The road bike is too light for an ebike, so today I put a new front shift cable on, pumped up the tires, and rode it around. First time on drops in thirty years!

Nice catch. The cannondale is really nice. I also have a road bike sitting in the dusty corner and if I tried to get in the drops, someone would have to help me off the bike.. :)
Good luck on your conversion.

The thing I thought odd about rummaging through that pile of bikes is that there are all these twenty year-old bikes that appeared almost in new condition, outside of sitting in the rain for a decade plus. I going to pick some more out, because it's a rescue operation now.

What do you mean too light? What is the minimum? I ride a BMC City Ltd., and it weighs 38 pounds in full eBike dress.

A 15# bike, carbon fiber front forks, tiny seat stays, and skinny tires. I don't think I'll make it an ebike (though a TSDZ conversion might be interesting to try.) Too old and broken from falling off bikes, etc.
I have a Trek 7.2 with a BBS02 on it. I wouldn't want any less bike at 30 plus mph.
Your BMC City Ltd looks like a great bike. To rich for my blood, though I'll probably spend more farting around trying to build a good ebike.
