My brother passed away to COVID. I Inherited two electric trikes. I have no instructions 4 battery packs no clue as to what to do.
Do the batteries need to match the motors ?

Google the Trike brands for their manuals.

And please show pics of Trikes & Batteries.

If both Trikes are the same model the batteries are probably interchangeable.

The battery is a Unit Power brand that I've seen in Amazon which comes in 36v, 48v or 52v. The power supply marked "54.6v" is the output voltage for a 48v power supply. I also mark my power supplies so I don't grab the wrong one. I would take a look at the hub and see if it says 500 watts. If that's the case, then it's most likely a 48v motor and matches up with the battery. The controller, sitting under the power supply, may have some markings to tell you its for a 48v kit. The controller should have a matching connector for the battery and the motor.

Do all of the batteries have the same connector? Appear to be the same size?

No, there isn't a standard yet. If the battery was used in the kit, then connectors from the controller to the battery should match up.
Most DIY batteries have 2 leads coming out (red/black) that hook up to the controller.

All fine and dandy, but my question was regarding the 4 batteries the OP was looking at. These, presumably were used in the 2 trikes that have already been built.

It would be great if someone could email me [email protected]
I removed the plug at the battery to see what color goes where, and marked the color on the battery
