Retail prices will go up $600-$1000 or more with tariffs. Please take a moment to add your name to the USTR website in opposition to the e-bike tariffs. People For Bikes makes it easy as entering your name and address. The form is filled in with a well-written statement that you are free to edit. Your voice counts! The first round of tariffs was supposed to be $50billion, but consumer input removed $16billion from the list -- which is how e-bikes got added. I love a 3.5 inch street tire on my fatbike. Very stable, great ride and no noise. That said, I hated the 4" Kendas it came with. I have no desire to go to a narrower tire. It does help that my bike has the Bafang Ultra motor with boat loads of power. I rode a Pedego Trail Tracker before buying my bike and was nicely made but not nearly the power of mine. I think a high powered fat bike is perfect for most situations.

Caligirlshan - if you enjoyed fat tires and expect ta lot of beach riding, - definitely try fatties. To me, it's getting from A to B on mostly paved roads, always keeping in mind that I might have to pedal heavy machine a few miles if motor/battery/controller fails. In this scenario fatties would be a bad idea. Also, I prefer not to expose it to sand and marine air unless I have to, - bikes don't like sand and wetness.

If your goals are different, then choose differently. Test-ride bikes that you think you want (or similar setups). It's better to pay $800 more if/when tariffs suddenly jack prices up, than to get stuck with something you don't like.
