Saw this and figure I would share. Not wireless like the more expensive ones. http://www.gizmag.com/microshift-excd-electronic-shifting/42270/
what is the point of electronic shifting other than marketing? With the precision of indexed shifting what is gained? ANYONE find the little lever too hard to move?
One more thing to leave you stuck if it breaks.
..but this still has a cable running from the shifter,
i just don`t see the point.
Shifter cable adjustments, for one. That'd make it worth every penny for me.
– A cable to transmit data, not a cable under tension. That's a big difference.
As we baby boomers age , my wife can't use her thumbs well, she is ready for this, she will struggle with the incorrect gear rather then shift, arthritis. Mine hurt after a a long ride too, 80 + miles . I would like auto shifting w/over ride. There are many different people who want to ride bikes. What do you think of a recumbent? what about a large person who want to ride ? etc..
I was pointing out that there are different needs for different people was all. I did leave out when I win the lottery and have excess money I would buy a $9500 version of an st2 w/buttons , so luxury vehicles do have a place too
How is that a big difference?
