Hello all,
My wife and I recently purchased an Aventon Level and Pace 500. We’ve logged about 100 miles on three rail trail trips. We started with pedal bikes two seasons ago but had some physical limitations. The e bikes provide greater range and we can tailor the effort to suit. We are thrilled with their performance and saw many other e bikes on the GAP trail this weekend.
I was glad to read the comments and advice offered in these posts and will stay connected to learn as we go.
One issue that is concerning is transporting the bikes on a car carrier in rainy weather. Will the rain at highway speeds damage the electrical systems? We plan an extended car trip and plan to take the bikes. Should we remove the batteries and cover the controls

I find displays & throttles to be damaged by the rain. I deleted the fogged over display & now wrap the throttle with a plastic bag when I ride in the rain. I suppose being on a car rear would be worse.
My battery is well protected against rain, but I designed the wrapping myself. Some models collect water on top of the battery around the connector. Make sure yours doesn't do that. If so, wrap that area too. Cling wrap?
The motors are pretty sealed except against running through high water.

Hello and welcome to this site. Make sure to remove the battery when transporting and if you‘re afraid of getting the display wet you can either wrap a baggie around it, or remove it altogether. Just back off the screws holding it secure and pull out its power cord. When putting it back on, make sure to line up the arrows. I would try capping the receptacle that the battery plugs into. Good luck and ride safe.

Welcome to EBR. Since you mentioned the GAP, are you in Pennsylvania? I am in central PA on the Susquehanna river and there is an active group of ebike riders around here.

Yes, PA riders from the Pittsburgh area. We spend lots of time in the Laurel Highlands. We biked several trails in Western PA and will be traveling some of the C&O canal in June centered out of Harper's Ferry.
