I am glad to be able to share information on my new Trek Dual Sport +. I purchased the bike in December 2018 and am now riding with better weather. I have encountered a control problem with the bike. I have had to return to my local bike shop on two occasions because the display will go out completely or just the assist level will turn off when riding over rough pavement. I did a 28 mile ride this week after just getting the bike back from the shop. The shop did software update and enabled the walk mode and light on/off selection. Bike still has same control issue as before. The bike shop has the bike now and I was told there is a service bulletin for battery socket alignment. I will give update if this procedure works.

Congrats on the new ride.
Make sure that you get rid of all the squeaks and creaks within the warranty period for it could be a big cash drain later.
Once you have the bike back take few rides over where you had issues just to make sure that they do not come back, if that makes any sense.

Sounds like a bad weld in the battery. Test on rough pavement the day you get it back. If it blanks again, leave that lemon in the shop until they get sick of looking at it. Companies love supplying $10 fixes to $500 problems while the calender runs out.
I got money back for one battery with this problem, the other one spoofed me until the 31 day ebay return period was up.
