greetings other humans,

52 and fatter than i wish to be,
so middle of last summer i decided to get an ebike to allow me to ride the GAP trail here in PA and fish the yough river.

little did i know what an all encompasing activity it would become lol
it also allowed me to become infatuated with foraging for wild edible mushrooms.

decided on the fucare gemini x and absolutely love it,not a high end but its been fantastic,
have it setup so perfect for fishing/foraging,
have even attached a fold up side table i built,
so my backpack stove has somewhere to sit when i find mushrooms :)

besides the gap trail,
i have ridden at/on myrtle beach sc,
garden city sc,myrtle beach state park sc,
murrels inlet sc,and huntington beach state park sc.

too much good fun and good fishing!!!

Welcome 6bloodychunk, glad that you found a fun way to use your bike while getting out for some exercise. My parents were born and raised in the Irwin, Shafton area and spent the 20’s, 30’s and 1940’s there.

Greetings from a like minded rider from NE Pennsylvania! I'm 77 and have been riding e-bikes for 7 years now. I've lost almost 50 pounds in that time and riding has done much to improve my health.

I get out your way to ride portions of the GAP four or five times a season. I've done it end to end twice as well as most of the connecting C&O Canal trail. in the 6 states and 20 or so trails I regularly ride, the GAP is by far the best! If you haven't already done so, you might try the Panhandle and Montour trails near Pittsburgh. Here's a link to a list of my favorites:

Welcome to the forum and by all means, post pictures of your rides!

hope to see you out there sometime!

cant miss the long haired fat guy in a skull hat on the weird looking ebike with a skeleton and gnome as extra passengers lol

just flag me down and ill gladly pull over and get a pot of coffee going :)
may have some delicious mushrooms to fry up too if i was fortunate that day lol

most of the time ill start from the Smithton GAP trail access and will either go south to Connellsville and back or north to McKeesport and back,
i dont usually have a destination in mind,
some days i fish more than i ride and some i ride more than fish lol

I usually start in Meyersdale and ride up to Confluence & back. On a good day, I'll make it to Connellsville and spend the night.
It's also an easy ride from Meyersdale down to Cumberland and back.
This lets me hit my favorite spots like the Big Savage Tunnel, Pinkerton Tunnel and the Keystone & Salisbury Viaducts.

The section between Ohiopyle, through the state park, to Connellsville is beautiful. Great views of the Yough and not many people once you get north of the falls. Connellsville to Smithton is ok but once you get further north, there are too many road crossings and too much traffic for my liking. The bridge over the Monongahela at McKeesport is worth seeing though.

agreed. much nicer scenery south of smithton.

although i do go north of smithton often,
"dead mans hollow" just north of boston is a beautiful area,
and filled with mushrooms :)

fucare gemini x
Is there a dealer near you who can service this bike without waiting nine weeks for the wrong parts from China? I purchased four quality shirts 15 years ago. They still look great every week out of the dryer. Cheap shirts look fine at first but are trash by the third washing. This bike is throwing money away in the trash, the initial price seams low, then you pay, bigtime. And are left high-and-dry. Only buy local with local service or you are effed big-time. High-And-Dry with something junk that cannot ever be sold to a lesser fool.

When it takes a dump, just drop it off at the closest Whole Foods the Deli will take care of it.

really? childish much?

and here i was thinking there were decent people here, thanks for proving me wrong brother.

so,if someone buys a less than "elitist" (vehicle/food processor/matress cover/paint brushes/3d printer/rubber walrus protectors)

do you also make it a point to tell all of them what a mistake "YOU THINK" they made?

i do all my own repair maintence,
and i know you dont want to hear it,
but beyond normal regular upkeep or me breaking something,
it has been trouble free and wonderful.

ive got more than my moneys worth out of the FUcare already,
so if it breaks, ill buy another one,

but i damn sure wont buy any bike that you would approve of me buying,
because it would probably make me hold my nose so high in the air that it would get altitude sickness,
and feel the need to put others down over their choice of bike.
LAME,and LAME some more.

thanks for being like all the other 99% of people in the world by having no respect for others :)

our ancestors would be asamed at the lack of honor we have for ourselves,
and the lack of respect we have for for others,
quite a shame.

you cant have any of my coffee or mushrooms now :)
