yes Biktrix Duos are on a serious discount now, you have to go to Biktrix.com/click on Biktrix Duo/then click purchase/then click the "go to Indegogo button" you will see the sale prices and bike options.The 750watt Hub motor Biktrix Duo with a second battery is $2545 Canadian but it wont be for long.

Yes, if I was the OP after doing some quick checks to make sure, I would immediately purchase the Biktrix Duo bike with a second battery at this incredible price. A potential deal breaker, these batches of bikes, don't ship until April 2021.

Depending on your budget. With your budget of $2,500(Canadian) max., it's what ElevenAD mentioned 750watt hub motor Biktrix Duo with a second battery. That would just over $2,500(Can) total.
Hub motor or midrive which would be better?

I’d spring the extra few bob and get the extra battery etc. It’ll give you more options for longer rides when the summer comes round. You’ll prob use it when you have it. I do.

mid-drive better if you can afford the upgrade. But hub motor still would be good.

The advantage of hub motor, would be much less strain on your drivetrain parts(besides being cheaper).

If you intend doing lots of road/pavement stuff probably the hub would be better. If you plan on doing trails with plenty climbing hills etc I think the mid drive. I have the mid drive and do mostly roads/pavement but I like off road too and will do more of that when summer comes. I love the mid drive even for pavement stuff but I’ve never tried a hub drive.
