Ncm Moscow in rain

Hi all! I have Ncm Moscow and was wondering how the electrics are while riding in the rain? Should I be wary to cover up battery and electrics on handlebars or is there a spray I can just spray on to protect? What do you do if you take out in wet weather or do you do nothing at all? Want to be sure I’m not gonna damage something!! Looking for any advice!

Hi, some members are covering the top of the battery where the charge lights are as there have been reports of water ingress causing problems, also probably a good idea to cover display in heavy rain, maybe with a small plastic bag. Some reports of display screens misting up.

Thanks for the heads up!! Do you have a Moscow? I just got into my display with the code but no option to change to mph?? Or to set speed to 0 to take off speed restriction like on one of the you tube videos!! Any advice?

What display is it?

Should be 8018, Hold down plus and minus buttons to get into display. Use plus and minus buttons to set code then press M. You can set speed, tyre/wheel size and change to MPH.

Yes I did all that but will only let me change wattage ( 48 or 36 ) tyre size ( 29 ) and power 1,2 or 3. It does give me the option to change to mph or put speed to 0 like on you tube! Frustrating!!

I live in Oregon and last Sunday I rode under heavy rain for 10 minutes. I didn't cover anything however, the rain didn't seem to cause any damage or any other issues.

Do a long push on the M button ,it will change from KPH to MPH. I think the settings you are getting in the display are correct. I think the options are limited for European market.

Cheers will try that in the morning! Yeah I’ve read other people having same issue in eu market bikes!

It's good you had no issues. If you look back on the forum at some of the reviews not everyone has been that lucky.

Hi and thanks for the info! Might try to cover top of battery and screen on handlebars as precaution like others seem to have done

Just letting you know I did a long push on the M button whilst in settings and still no option to change to mph! It’s not the end of the world just annoying!

Don't do it while in settings. Just turn on display then do a long push on Plus button, KPH will flash press plus again to select MPH, set with M button. Sorry I didn't mean to say M button on previous thread.

On my battery, the place where the lights and on/of switch are was coated with clear silicone. The idea I assume is to protect from water, but still be flexible enough to allow use of the switch and a visual of the lights.

Yes I read some people were having issues with water dripping down into battery when in rain. I just found some clear silicone tape and sticky strips online so will probably order some so I can just put on if necessary. Thanks for the idea
