My Next Trip: PDX to Walla Walla

I saw this video and things kind of snapped into place for my next e-bike tour:

I had planned an expedition from Bend, OR to Cour D'Alene, ID for this fall, but this video kind of inspired a different kind of trip. My plans are to still hit a lot of the same places, cool towns like Prineville, OR, Mitchell, OR, Halfway, OR, and Joseph, OR. But the tail part of the trip through the Palouse always felt kind of contrived and the start was less than perfect as well. Starting in Portland and ending in Walla Walla all made it come together.

Some of the scenery I hope to ride on the way:

All those trails look very tempting. Have fun!

Now that is what I call God's Country. Oregon looks so beautiful. Another one to put on the life list! Happy travels!

Actually, there has been a very slight change in plans... I am dropping off the rental minivan in Vancouver and adding about a half-dozen extra miles to the first (easy) day.

Question is, do I have enough cameras?:

37798

Also a tough decision: should stay in a dumpy hotel the first night and be sure to be fully charged for the next 75 mile day or should I camp and have a slightly longer day likely without fully charged batteries? There are very few (like maybe one) options for charging en route.

Launch day is now set: Sunday 8 September 2019 High Noon.

I'd be lucky to make 15 miles a day riding there. I am stopping everywhere when I ride as it is. I usually ride and set up camp, stripe the bike down and do day rides until it's time to move on.
