Hi , everyone from Falkirk ! Town in Central Scotland, I'm Tom and im fairly new to Mountain biking, still learning and making steady progress. There's a few good tracks n trails near me of varying skill levels , but at 59 I'm not ever going to be going up 8ft Berms.
My ride is a Cube hybrid 160 , which i have to say ticked all the boxes till recently.
I'm having problems with the dropper it stopped working properly, it's top kit. I initially thought the cable had stretched or the lever grab screw wasn't tightening (thread stripped) so carefully this was removed and replaced by my buddy.
He's a mad keen MTB Rider with 40 years engineering experience awesome dude.
The problem is still there , the post isn't locking up ! Can anyone advise ? My mate's scratching his head at the moment. Spent 5 hours on this only to be back at square 1.

What brand and model is your dropper post?

I hope you have not been lifting the bike by the saddle. I ruined one dropper doing that. It was not a top model by any means but manhandling the bike by using the saddle to lift the bike can strain or even invert the seal between the outer dropper tube and the inner one. The result was it would not stay down but kept easing its way back up without the lever being engaged.

It was an expensive lesson but I ended up with a better quality dropper post, the PNW Coast
