So how would you change the tire if the cable doesn't disconnect

I might not be able to change the tire, but I could always swap out an inner tube, using one of these. I have one in all the sizes, 20", 26" and 700cc used for my bikes.

And someone probably can pull the wheel down far enough to get the axle free of the frame and squeeze a tire thru the gap.
