It is possible. The MC calculates the distance covered by the rotational speed of the rear-wheel and the wheel circumference. Strava takes GPS readouts. Often, wrong wheel diameter is coded in the Vado system and that makes the discrepancy in reported mileage. I think only the LBS can change the wheel circumference to the proper one. Another thing is how accurate Strava really is.
As you know, I do not have the TCD-W display yet but experience similar discrepancies between the BLOKS display and Endomondo. The coded wheel circumference is wrong in my Vado. (It is coded the way the bike owners cannot change it themselves).
