Mission Control hopeless?

I'm looking at buying a 2018 Turbo Levo and took one out for a day yesterday. After reading all the sales hype, I was really excited to try the Mission Control app. I had read a few posts about done problems with it early on, but that was about a year ago. I had nothing but problems with it when I tried to do anything beyond change basic settings. Figuring there must be some solution, I sent Specialized this email:
I just took the 2018 Turbo Levo out for the first time and I'm having a few problems with the mission control Android app. I have an unmodified Samsung Galaxy S7 edge with plenty of storage space and an extra SD card in it. I've purchased the US Pennsylvania offline maps in the app.

The first problem I'm having is the unit of measure seems to be stuck at Metric. I can change it to imperial, but it changes back when I leave.

The second problem I'm having is the map function. When I tell it where I'm going, it shows me my destination in the middle of the ocean.

Also with the map, if I search for something nearby, it gives me the correct results, but tells me they're thousands of km away. I'm not that familiar with Metric, but it seems very wrong.

The next issue I'm running into is the Strava integration. It takes me to the login screen but then immediately returns to the settings screen in mission control without doing anything with Strava.

Finally, after my first ride the mission control app crashed. From that point on, it now crashes the moment I press the play button on the map. I've tried restarting both the phone and the app, but neither have had any effect.

Additionally (may be related to the above item), the first ride it recorded shows the tour correctly on the map, but all the stats for the ride are 0.

I wanted this bike over others primally for the app features - but if there's no resolution, I don't think this is the bike for me.

Please help!! I'm open to any suggestions at all, and I'm a very technically-capable user.

I didn't expect them to have all the answers, but thought they'd try to help in some way. Unfortunately I received a form letter reply (with a legal disclaimer stating that I can not share their email) telling me they're restructuring their team so there's no one to read my email, they're always improving the app (it hasn't been updated for quite some time!), map functions only work on older phones (my phone was released a good bit before this bike!), and I should just check my credentials for Strava (I don't get a screen to enter credentials).

So I get the impression the app is quite dead. Have others found any solutions out alternatives? Are there other bike manufacturers that have app integration? If I completely ignore the app, are there other bikes in the$5-$7k range I should be considering?

I was quite happy with the bike, but it was the app that totally had me sold on it before I ever took it for a spin. Now that the app isn't living up to expectations I'm ready to branch out.

It is a bit sad that they (Specialized) have seemingly chosen to not worry very much about the Mission Control App. I had a turbo-levo Fattie and the app seemed to work quite well, though I had no intent of interfacing it with Strava. I was using the MC app with a newer iPhone. I recently purchased a Vado 6 and the MC app is not yet available for that particular model...a bit hard to believe at this point! I really liked the MC app for being able to control/change some of the programmable features on the turbo-levo, but I used a Garmin Edge 1000 for mapping and keeping track of my ride statistics, so the mapping functions were not as important as they might be in your case. Clearly, Specialized needs to give some undivided attention to their software/firmware development, hopefully sooner rather than later! I also own a Stromer ST-2 and their Omni interface is extremely well developed, sans any mapping functions. I simply switch my Garmin Edge between bikes as I use them and rely on it for the ride and mapping parameters.

I checked in the App Store for iPhone under Vado turbo; turbo Vado; Mission Control with no results. Am I missing something??

$5-$7K range has huge range of choices - just about every major manufacturer has excellent options.

If you like apps, BH Easy Motion is just releasing their new Atom X Lynx 5 and 6 All Mountain bikes. Large 720w battery using newest 21700 cells. Uses Brose S motor that Specialized uses.(Link Removed - No Longer Exists)

The Stromer ST-2 is now available at a reduced price from the original $7K. It still is around 1.5K more than the Vado but it has a terrific interface and a good bit larger battery, in WH, compared to the Vado. I really like them both. The fork on the Vado makes a difference on longer rides...

I have the app for my Turbo X and I use it at most once or twice a year. It really doesn’t do much and you aren’t missing out. Is there something you really wanted it for?

I had it on my turbo-Levo fatty and my thinking is that you can change some parameters that give you better control of torque at different assist levels? I use a Garmin 1000 for gathering stats and mapping. And, the new Blok’scommunication interface on the Vado 6 is pathetic without the software that brings all of its features into play.
