Mid-Drive motor commuter bike

Hey guys!
I've been riding a 2017 Surface 604 Shred for a few years and its getting a bit long in the tooth, and the battery isn't quite what it used to be. So I'm looking at getting a new bike. Ideally, it would be the same bike, but with a mid-drive motor, the closest I've found to that is the Biktrix Juggernaut Classic w/27.5" tire.
At bare minimum, it needs to hit 45kph that my old bike can do, and be 750W or better, while lasting 30km on full power.
My concern though, is that I've heard *things* about biktrix, and I just wanted to see if there are alternatives?

Hmm interesting. Bit more expensive, but probably better supported than Biktrix.

Biktrix is a very good company with above average customer support,Dost is overpriced imo. i will say if your getting a new bike why not step it up to a Biktrix with a BBSHD 1000w vs BBS02 720watt?

That motor is probably real overkill for a city bike in any place that's not hilly like San Francisco or Seattle. It's torque output is huge....

Huge = YES! I have the fat tire version of that bike (Rize RX Pro) and couldn't agree more. That's why I also suggested the Rize MD. With something over 100nm available, still pretty capable....

The Rize MD looks like suuuuper good value but has a 32kph (20mph) max speed! That is very uncool, since it looks they charge a 800-1000CAD premium for access to the full legal speed in BC.

I'm curious how good the pedal assist is on the Rize RX and RX Pro is? Is it a torque sensor or cadence sensor? My Shred is a BB torque sensor which is . But if its a cheaper cadence sensor this bike seems expensive.

Thats not just a BBS02 ... its a BBS02 encased in a metal box. I'm sure that only helps cooling on a motor thats going to be challenged to start with.

Overkill is a good thing. If the motor has excess capacity you don't need, it isn't strained and is more likely to last forever as a result.

I'm just not interested until the Ultra has a parts stream. Like the early days of the BBSxx motors, parts are hard to find.

I kinda don't like step thrus, too much frame flex usually, but the gladiator looks like good value too. Little worried that they won't have good rack support.
Any idea how often they get new stock?
EDIT: Just realized that the gladiator is hub drive... ugh

And how does that affect an eBike? These aren’t competition Tour de France road bikes. Much adieu about nothing.

LOL, you haven't seen me when I'm late for work in the morning. Plus the flex feels bad... and I have zero confidence that it won't crack one day when I hop a curb.

yup! there are very few stepthru designs that i trust at my size! 6/3 235/240lbs.

overkill is a myth dang it! one way to prevent buyers remorse is to purchase a bike that does what you want and then some...trust me. i have always gone above and beyond what i need and i have never had the desire to sell my bikes! my good buddy on the other hand purchased what he thought he needed and within the first year he realized he should have went with a more powerful motor and a bigger battery. i think your more likely to grow into a bike like the RX before you outgrow it.

the Pedal assist on the RX is Torque sensor, i can only really compare it to the torque sensor on my hubmotor cruiser and to me it feels the same! not sure how it stacks up to other middrive torque sensors.
