Medeo T10+ in Canada?

Hi everybody,

After a lot of research, I have determined that the bike for me is the Gazelle Medeo T10+. However, I have been unable to find this bike in Toronto or Vancouver. I can find the regular version, but not the class 3 + (28mph) version. This is strange to me, since many Canadian bike companies sell class 3 Ebikes.

Has anybody been able to find this bike in Canada? I am currently in Toronto, but will be moving to Vancouver in a few months. If anybody knows of a location in British Columbia where I could purchase this bike (or the Ultimate T10+), please let me know!

Class 3 ebikes can not be purchased in Canada. There are companies that sell ebikes that can be de-restricted for off road use only (wink, wink), but the maximum legal speed allowed (under power) is 32kmh.

Got it, thank you for your response. Damn though - what a complete bummer!

I want a high quality bike, but don't think I can justify spending $4000+ for a bike that can't go faster than 30km/h.

The DOST Kope seems great (mid drive, integrated battery, integrated lights, class 3), but I want an EBike with torque sensing (not just candence like current DOST products).

I'll have to continue my search. thanks again.

Biktrix and Rize (both Canadian companies) sell bikes that can be adjusted for 'off road only' speeds.

Yes, lots of Canadian companies do sell bikes that can go up to 50 kmph.
Many of them come with Bafang mid-motor.

Then, you have some stores selling Class Stromer E-bikes in Canada. There is a way to sell them without any legal issues because this is a grey area. Top speed in pure pedal assist mode is not specified in many provinces.
Moreover, if you are riding responsibly, it is a non-issue.

Electric Bikes of New England carries them. They have free shipping in US, you may be able to just pay the import tax. As pointed out by other posts, it would not be street legal for you in CA, but I must say the bike is a lot of fun. Got mine this weekend from my local shop in Washington DC and could not be happier. It has a lot of torque, even in the regular version T10 and is super smooth shifting and pedal assist. To be honest, for my road riding, I don’t know if you would miss the speed tuning on the Bosch. Look at Maddogs review in the Gazelle forum on his Medeo T10. Unlike him, I do quite a bit off off road on the grass fields of my farm and that is when I will kick it into sport and occasionally turbo mode just for kicks. The other thing I really liked is how easy it peddles without assist on, very little resistance and I kept up with my wife just fine with it off, since even when I was in eco, I was having to tap the brakes to stay at her pace of 11mph(17kph).
