Some people might argue but I don't think Rad Power Bikes fall into the junk bikes category at all. But tangentially, one of my peeves about them is that they go to a good bit of effort to make people think their parts are proprietary even though in my not so limited experience they are not. I think, for example, if they were out of brake pads they'd want you to wait 3 months for them to get some in rather than tell you you can get some on Amazon, that will work at least as well and be delivered tomorrow or the next day. You just have to know something about what you're doing. Maybe that's the way it is with most mike manufacturers, but I don't think they do themselves any favors.

I have seen builders use Walfart bikes for frames and build out with much better components.
My KHS Manhattan Smoothies (all 3 models owned, townie style ) were $550 and dropped to $450 and cheaper components. But unchanged frames. 2 have had lots of improvements, but one gifted to a friend is rode hard put up wet, and all OEM. It was a 7 year old versio and better components than newest ST we built out.

I can say, I never considered Walmart in the first place. No need to re-consider them.

I have no experience with Walmart's e-bikes but as the largest retailer in the world I suspect they are careful about not selling junk or their hard to beat return policy would render them no profit on bikes.

Well when you can get the "Hyper" brand half price, in the proper context these things will help you get around, the little Hyper 700 cruiser stepthru was certainly easy to pedal even with the 250 watt motor off, if you were going somewhere for a little while and wanted something to help you get around and it had a high probability of being stolen a bike this is worth considering.Traveling construction workers have told me the same thing don't take your best tools to a remote temporary job.

i can't tell if this is tongue in cheek (?) but walmart's reputation is for selling anything and everything they can make a margin on, junk or not! no doubt they sell some good stuff, and lots of junk.
