I'm looking for a second e-bike for my wife. Anyone with any experience with the Evelo bikes? The model I'm favoring is the Delta X.

Thanks,

Mike

@CodyDog, a couple of my customers have earlier Evelo bike models that are still going strong. They all like the NuVinci systems for it's ease of use and the decent torque of the mid drive motor. With the new Bafang mid drive (I have retrofitted one of my own bikes with a BBS02 kit) she will have plenty of power to handle hills.

Court reviewed the 2017 version of the Delta with this integrated mid drive which may give you some more info.
I'm also going to move this thread to the Evelo forum where you may get more feedback.

Thanks Ann. Yeah, I did see Courts review which was good. Want to get more feedback before I spend $4K. Glad to hear your customers are having good things to say. Buying a bike unseen is a challenge. I did the same with my Rover and was pleased with the bike but taking that leap of faith is a bit scary. I have exhausted my local resources. You would think there were more retailers selling a wider variety of e-bikes in the Austin area.

My goal in to find my wife a bike that has the NuVinci® N380 transmission, Throttle and light trail (gravel/ hard packed dirt) capabilities.

Evelo has a 10 day trial period. Should be sufficient to determine if you like the bike. Delta X looks like a nice design.

Look at the soon-to-be-released Aurora. Fully Loaded version comes with 750w Bafang w/throttle.

The new Evelo bikes look pretty good, especially the Delta. My 3 year old Aurora is still running well and the battery has held up perfectly. I wish it had the 500w motor for the hills, but the new models do. They are lighter as well. Mine weighs around 56 bs. without the battery, which is a bear to lift onto the car bike rack. With the help of a suspension seatpost it is a very comfortable bike to ride. Their service is excellent.

The Aurora looks good. Spoke with Evelo today about the Aurora. Comes in both a 500w and 750w motor.

The 500 should be plenty. If you really want to sprint uphill, go for the 750, but I think that's overkill.

Fully Loaded also has nicer components and larger battery. Little reason to settle for the smaller motor imo.
