First off thank you for being out there..and making a difference.
Your easy relaxed flow and technical awareness makes you easy to watch and understand.

I'm a 66 year old guy who has a wrist issue from a skateboard many Moon ago.
Comfort and an upright riding position is important to me.

I have an ebike on the central coast..Morro bay..and love it. I live in Alaska during the summers and trying to decide between bikes at or below 4500.00 for my time here.

I'd prefer to have at least front suspension.

Mostly paved bike paths but I also want to get off road.

Haven't looked at mail order but my options up here are.

Bulls Copperhead EVO HD WAVE

Trek

Haibike

Specialized....even considering the Como..just because it so comfortable..but no shocks..the Vado ..couldn't see how I could get upright enough.

Haro..some availability

Fuji Ambient...which you demo'd

Havent ridden the Bulls yet..but it looks pretty good.

Any thoughts Court?

I know your busy..so no need to get to technical...just your gut feel...or even mail order.

Thank you again

Jeff Monson. (Wasilla and Morro Bay)

Try test riding as many of those local options as you can, in the ways you’ll be riding the bike. That should give you a good start in narrowing down your favorites.

You can also pick a bike you like and replace the handle bar with a more angular setup like Jones Loop Bar or Surly Moloko. They will give you a more upright position, be much easier on your wrists, as well as provide more real estate for your gadgets.

I have always found Haibike to put the rider in a comfortable "touring" position .

I found the "low-step" , as Court would say , kind a , sort of "more approachable" . :)

Comfortable upright position is primarily dependent on the handlebar slope and the stem height. Although Haibikes make awesome ebikes (I own one), their models really aren't made for this. But, he can always replace the handlebar and make it work.
