Looking for a preferable available now or very near future e-bike for causal riding/light exercise, occasional longer joy ride.

As the title says i'm looking around for something not really for commuting or hard long distance riding but more for lighter exercise, fun rides...I'm 6ft 2", 245lbs ...Live in Las Vegas...just looking to get out get some light exercise and fresh air...I need the ability to be able to climb some decent hills (live near the mountains as apposed to down in the valley) with out to much strain as i have had some health issues that require reasonable breathing till i can retrain my lungs a little and drop some poundage... I have a budget of $2,500 out the door or shipped but wouldn't mind saving as much as possible.. I don't need super long distances but something i could grow with that if i could get going say 20-30 mile round trips eventually..I like the look of the moped style ebikes and what looks more comfortable than a traditional bike seat ...I really only need move my legs enough to get some light cardio in so not looking to bike bike...i have a older diamondback 29er for that if i get in that kind of shape again...Anyway,m thanks for any advice in advance.

You should be able to find competent dealers in the Las Vegas metro area that carry each of the Big-3, Trek, Giant, Specialized. I would start there. Test ride any that strike you as interesting.
They all make excellent ebikes. Some of the dealers may carry other newer brands coming onto the scene as well. Having a good dealer to get you started and provide tech support and warranty can make all the difference.

The market seems to be heating up with this pandemic thing, and inventories are selling out, so don't wait.

Both the Trek Verve+ and the Giant Explore would fit your needs and budget, both are excellent. The Specialized Vado is also very nice, but a little bump in price. I would test ride them all.

Good luck and let us know what you find, what you decide on.

Thanks for your suggestions...Maybe i should of added in a throttle option jic at first....With your suggestions it does look like you are getting more bike than electronics for the price, I'm more than OK with mediocre bike but great electrics for what i'm using it for.

You will need to do the leg work on what is available. Even if someone found an eBike 2 days ago, inventory could be gone now. Just read where one Specialized model in one color is being quoted as sold out for the year.

After couple of weeks of looking at whats out there, contacting company's, looking at warranty's , etc. I went with the Evelo Aries Hub-Drive... in my opinion better comprehensive warranty and bang for the buck than the big guys ( proven by conversation and looking around at reviews etc)...and stayed under budget by a few hundred. Thanks all for you suggestions.

You could look at Blix Aveny or Aventon Level. Both are good bikes with a throttle. good luck

Well thanks for your suggestions but it was already purchased as stated...I know the Level won't be in stock for a while, and the Aveny just really isn't my style. and neither company can match the warranty...

Well back to the drawing board, They are a week behind on their shipping dates and i canceled...I don't care if a spend 2 dollars or 2000 dollars..Want what i payed for.
