Production issues for sure. They can't keep the CrossCurrent S in stock, each shipment is mostly sold out before it even arrives at their warehouse. The biggest reliability issue I found was related to spokes breaking on the rear wheel. Juiced changed both the type of spoke they are using (went to Sapim brand spokes) and changed the geometry of the wheel spoke lacing. This appears to have resolved the problem, as I haven't read about owners of the newer bikes having spoke problems.
Also as far as range goes, take every bike makers estimate with a grain of salt. The biggest factor in range is the speed you are riding, anything over 20 mph starts to use exponentially more power due to wind resistance. Juiced does have a "Real world range test" on their site which demonstrates very well the effect of speed on range. Probably the best way to estimate the range of one bike to another is to calculate the "Watt Hours" Wh of the battery, as this is essentially the capacity of the battery. It is easily calculated by multiplying the Voltage (V) x Amp Hours (Ah). For example the Juiced 52V 21Ah pack is 1092 Wh. Stromers big battery is 48V and ~ 20.47 Ah for 983 Wh. The remainder of these bikes is similar enough that you can assume that the Juiced bike would have ~ 9% more range if speed, rider weight, etc were the same.
