Liv LCD wouldn't turn off

We're new to ebikes. I wanted to share this in case someone else runs into the same thing. My wife's Liv Amiti got soaked on the rainy drive home from the dealer. When we got home the LCD display wouldn't turn off. Pushing the "off" button for 3 seconds would kill the LCd for about a half second, then it'd start right back up again. I pulled the battery out. The LCD lit up as soon as I started to plug the battery back in.

Long story short, there's a cable connector between the LCD and the thumbpad at the left handgrip. I opened that connector. Could see water in the bottom. Grabbed a can of compressed air for cleaning out your PC. Blasted out both halves of the connector. LCD has behaved since.

I talked with the guy who sold us the bikes. He seemed to be very interested, and said he'll contact Giant.

Some electrical tape wound tightly around that connector oughta help.

A plastic sandwich bag and a rubber band may help if expecting heavy rain. Cover up the entire LCD and connector. Do the bikes have fenders?

Yes, the Liv does have fenders. Not that the fenders made any difference. All we did was pack the bike home with our trailer hitch rack. Wasn't even being ridden.
