Lightly used 2018 ebikes at 40-60% off ?

Elevated charging current like 8A is not good for a battery. More like an emergency situation, when you are in a hurry.

You don’t know. 8amps is only half of what a quality cell can handle. For The cheap packs I don’t now.

For lithium polymer - like we're using in RC cars, charge rate is 1-C - so a 17ah pack could conceivably be charged at 17amps, and take about an hour.
The smart chargers for RC also balance cells, provide an option for discharge, and for storage-charge so you are good for leaving them stored. Plus you can set the max volts to suit a 90-95% full charge cutoff, and the controllers provide an adjustable shut-off for low volts. Lots of effort to preserve life and capacity.

I don't think I'd want lipo on a bike though - they have been known to catch fire. Most of these bike packs mount between your legs. LOL

For all I know the charge and discharge rates are radically different for L-ion.

Here is a budget eBike review just published on Electrek... Analog Motion for $999/1199 ;)

The AM1 Plus, with the battery kickstand fenders and all, weighs in at 15.64 kg (34.5 lbs). On account of the low weight, it’s really easy to toss around, lift up the stairs, lean into curves, and the steering is so tight that it makes Ray Liotta’s disapproving lips seem loose. This, of course, comes at the cost of all the extra equipment that can make riding more comfortable, enjoyable, or plain old fun. It wouldn’t take much to improve the seat, and I think the extra weight is worth it in this case.

Nice looking bike. The bars are too low for me and the fenders are ugly, but the rest of it is pretty cool.
I did test ride a Pace 350 and liked it a lot. I would have bought one for the wife but decided to convert hers instead. It had plenty of assist, very fun to ride. The pace 500 had a lot more kick. Both are relatively nice bikes in comparison. There is something to be said for single speed though if it works for you - simplicity and durability.

Almost true. A well designed BMS and com system could be reliable and not a problem. BUT sorting that is problematic. My solution is a backup battery for each of my bikes. It’s anecdotal bur I believe #A charge rates are a part of the readon

All relative. One mans drug is another’s poison. If ive learned anything, it’s individual choice is the desire factor in bu.ying an eBike. There is no perfect bike. Only the best bike for you. Unless ?oure FeliZ. 6 bikes are best. VVVBG.
