LEP Flashlights
Unlike LED flashlights, an LEP flashlight uses a laser as its light source. These types of flashlights are known to emit powerful beams with incredible range. Still, they lack any spill light at all - which makes them perfect for searching dark areas thousands of meters away or illuminating...www.killzoneflashlights.com

Is there a reason you need that kind of range ?

I live up against a pretty tall mountain. It might be ok to zero in on wildlife for viewing pleasure, but other than that, maybe to use if you were night hunting? Probably the best usage would be for a Search and Rescue truck...Even the small ones are around $200 ...

I can think of lots of ways they would be fun to have, but not much need for one ... maybe in the center of the grill of my wife's car with an inside switch ...I live up against a pretty tall mountain. Sounds like the Communion money has gone chernobyleJust found these and am really curious. About to pull the trigger on $100 versions. Which budget LEP do you like?
Mateminco FW2 or Amutorch BT35?
No surprise there. My most powerful 18650 LED flashlights either get very hot and have quite short battery life at highest setting. Highest setting isn’t intended for long use rather a feature and convenience. The reviews I watched showed they only worked full power for a short time and then reduce.
Nice lightI am not tempted by LEP. I find super-throwy lights less useful for the vast majority of tasks. Even on a good thrower I'm willing to sacrifice some distance in order to keep some useful spill. Which is why my best thrower, a Noctigon K1, has an SBT90.2 emitter instead of a smaller (better focusing) LED.
