KT controller without display

I just bought a KT36/48ZWSRM-ff01 controller. 22+-1A max.
It has a display connector, 5 pin rectangular. It was not offered with a display. Will it operate without the display?
Will it operate without the PAS sensor?
Previous controllers except ebikeling had a door switch input that had to be pulled up to battery + to operate. This does not have one. The ebikeling display got destroyed by rain so I have been happy to do without. My cellphone was destroyed by rain Saturday: the shower was not predicted and I did not get it into the plastic bag soon enough.
Vendor did not have a display listed in the first 8 pages of his inventory on ebay. Nor any other bicycle parts. Lots of random appliance parts and toys in stock. Probably a purchaser of auctions. Vendor Clehay Charity Lehay of Oakland .

KT controllers with HIGO plugs have been able to run without a display via a special plug. The very first Sondors ebikes had a base model with no display. I don't remember how the wiring works inside one of these plugs to make it work, but they are still available for sale.

If your controller has a JST/rectangular plug, I'm sure the wiring can be done more easily once you figure out what the pinout config is.

Also, if you have a KT controller, you can use the least-expensive display, which is the LCD4, which has a JST version. I see one on AliExpress with a JST adapter going for $15.73. One of the ones I have bought on Amazon is selling for $34.69 in the JST version and will deliver by Saturday.

Having the display will allow you to change the parameters of the controller, which are numerous. Some of them are required to match your motor for it to work at all. Among other things you have to input your magnet count for the thing to work (unless the controller's default settings just happen let it function via luck).
