Kickstand Alternative ( YES ! )

How is it I have never seen or heard of this thing? I HATE my kickstand. Though I have to have a stand. It's this ugly rattling protrusion hanging off the back of my bike. Hate it.

'darlinsk' has graced us with pics of her new beautiful Niner bike and she has what looks like a collapsible stick to hold up her bike. Where do we get these things?

Or am I just seeing things, that's her walking stick and the bike is magically standing up?

It's called a "Click-Stand"

Folds up to fit in a pocket or bag. Neat idea but a bit more difficult to deploy than a normal kickstand. Also a lot less stable on a slope. A parking brake would be helpful

There is also a shorter version that attaches to a rear wheel skewer:

Also another version available on eBay:

Double leg stand also helps my bike stand stable while I load groceries in the pannier. Loaded 2 plastic shelf units Tuesday, @ the home store.
I don't always park on level ground, and find the stick in post 1 problematic. It takes a strong forwards push on my bike to pull the stand over center. I lean about 20 degrees forwards to un-stand bike with groceries.

They are handy for a number of reasons.

The Wicked Witch eBike has one of the double stands for loading the baskets with little dogs. This bike has a mid-drive, compact battery, and internal brakes and gears inside the hubs.

😂I just don’t get the whining about a normal kickstand. There’s no way I’d screw around carrying/deploying a “walking stick”. As usual, my Allant+7 has a good, solid kicker that I don’t have to get out of some bag and stick on the end of my pedal. Its always there and deploys/works quickly and solidly any time I’ve used it. I’ve had to tighten the screws a time or two but otherwise no issues.

Lovely bike indeed! I’d suggest just getting a better/newer kickstand.

Buy yourself an e-MTB first :D

There are many things impeding or preventing setup of a kickstand on an e-MTB plus the ride safety aspect.
Not that a regular e-bike sports a fat chainstay or massive quick release lever for thru-axle.

I use my bike at work a lot here on the ranch. This entails a lot of short hops and parking the bike sometimes 30 times a day. Have to have a kickstand. But when I'm riding to ride ... always on rough roads the the damn thing rattles and clunks like a poorly sprung potato wagon. And it just looks like crap hanging of the back. I got the click stand and like it but it's not going to be right for using the bike at work. I mean it would work but you are right. Slow. Can't even compare to the ease and efficiency of a regular kickstand. Guess I'll have to look into a better regular kickstand. One that has better springs and stays tight to the stay when up. And maybe a pad of some sort for it to rest against when not in use.

Thats certainly what I’d do. There are lots of them available...some even have adjustable heights.

Topeak Flash Stand FAT is a mistake. Broken totally on the first use. I'm sorry I have to retract my advice. (These things should be made of metal, not plastic).
Well, fudge, Stefan. After looking at that pic of yours, I immediately went to ebay and ordered one. Where, how and why did it break? Did the fall do any damage to your bike? Looking at it, I assumed it was made from aluminum. When mine arrives, I'll reevaluate whether it's worth having a 60 pound plus fat ebike bear down on this thing before I put it into service. Appreciate that heads up!
