how long should it last?
i have only 864km on a new Radrhino and its showing me bald patches and thread is gone already.

is the tyre soft wearing, is there an alternative?

it is used mostly on road

i got 2000 (rear) and 2500 (front) miles out my first two, on pavement (in the US, I assume it's the same tire). But, you say "bald patches". The wear should be even, though of course most worn at the middle of the tire's contact point. Maybe your tube is lumpy or twisted, or maybe the wheel is significantly out of true?

The tire wear really started once I began to work commuting at 60-70 miles per week on paved roads compared to weekend trail riding before. I had to do a tire rotation to get more mileage from my Kenda. The rear tire does wear 2X-3X faster compared to the fronts on paved roads for me.

They don't make this tire anymore; but, I was able to get +2500 miles from the tire when I upgraded to Vee8 120tpi 26X4 tires. You might have to find something similar if you lean more towards paved roads compared to softer sand/dirt.

Timpo, I see you're asking questions everywhere regarding fat street tires. In my experience, you should be asking about self steering issues, where the tire seems to veer off on it's own unpredictably, and possibly over steer a bit when you lean into a corner. That's going to be a real issue with tires like this. It's the reason I dropped down to 26"x3" pavement tires. You can control/minimize the self steering issue with very careful, small changes to your air pressure, but I don't think you are going to eliminate it. Hopefully you're experience will be different than mine.

If you decide to try a set, I have a used set of Origin 8's I would sell (w/tubes pre-loaded with Slime), with less than 100 miles on them. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. -Al
