In the Netherlands bike frenzy I didn't see one helmet. With all those bikes there must be many broken crullers.

True, however, not a single accident and everybody are strictly observing the traffic rules. They also have their motors with limited power (250 watts?) and has speed limit rules.

It looks like majority are non electric but they are using non derailer type rear hubs and the drive train are covered with some kind of plastic shroud.

I would think most of them use a 3 speed internal geared hub.
