Juiced Batter

Will I damage the battery if i charge it when it's not in the bike?

I noticed the adapter is staying green instead of turning red, even though the battery is mainly dead.

Sorry, couldn't help it... 😁

Dumb question? But, why isn't the charger's color changing to red while it's charging?

And I thought people set how much the battery should charge on the bike's controller....

The controller doesn't affect charging. That's up to the battery management system built into the battery. There should be no difference between on-bike and off-bike charging. I've never charged mine on-bike, on either my CCS or my Scorpion.

1) if the power adapter is unplugged from the wall, then apparently, plugging it into the battery will light the adapter LED up as green. Stupid mistake.

2) i thought some people limited top and bottom charge capacities to help the battery longevity.....

That's true. I don't think it's intentional. It's just that there is a hot circuit and it lights the green light. I think the manufacturers of the charger could have put in a diode to eliminate that. But they might see that as a minor but unnecessary expense.
