It's Called A Click-Stand

the kickstand is bolted through the full width of the chain stay into a threaded metal backing plate the has its shape indented into the inside of the chainstay to keep it properly aligned. It was hard to get a photo that shows the backing plate without removing the rear wheel.

It was hard to get a photo that shows the backing plate without removing the rear wheel.

By chance, my rear wheel is off.

• Pletscher KSA 45 : meaning "45 mm kickstand attachment" (I think).
• Inside of left rear stay seen from right.
• Black object on left (above pavers) is the through-axle.
