All the item descriptions say “best place to…”. A hard “nope” for me. I feel dirty just browsing the site. Time to clear my cookies.

Really, what a bunch......

Has anyone ordered from them that is posting no, you say "looks bad, feel dirty, and where is the fact, proof.

Hell, they take paypal, buy something cheap, do a proper review, if bad, get refund from paypal if not then you speak from fact not fiction

My only FACT concern is that the link isthisbikestolen.com leads nowhere, that is concerning, and a stupid name from a selling site.

Also has anyone searched the host, anyone with any internet "knowledge" will check unknown sites, here is a basic check, do more research yourselves.

So Chinese probably as the host is in China !, more checking can tell you masses about any company, posted for info.

What is Gname com Pte Ltd?

GNAME.COM PTE. LTD. (hereinafter referred to as GNAME) was established in Singapore, as a professional international domain name registrar, committed to building a comprehensive service platform for Internet domain names.

Ok. Maybe I’m jumping the gun, but if all you have in your “clothing, shoes and jewelery” section is bike related equipment. Even in the “most popular” filter. Then I have a hard time believing you are a legit store. Seriously, I search “shoe” and don’t get shoes, but brake pads. Better organization will bring more customers. I even tried to “add to cart” and nothing got added to my cart.

Years ago https://www.isthisbikestolen.com/ WAS legit, as a site to check if a bike was stolen.

I remember it having a direct link to check serial numbers, and I was able to register my Specialized Sirrus Sport with the Toronto police via a link on the page.

I guess the domain lapsed, and a registrar just snapped it up (because it gets some traffic), and put a store template that pre-chooses the products to push forward based on domain history.

It is likely legit in that sense, but I wouldn't expect much, and if something really IS a deal, I'd use a safe 3rd party payment like PayPal.

Non-bike Tangent:

This practice has been around since the early days of the internet. Back in the 1990s I ran a Quake 2 clan that competed internationally (built the website, custom in-game skins/models, and bowling shirts for when we did in-person LAN competitions).

When I decided to step back and hand over the reins, the clan ran out of steam under new leadership after a while, and our domain was snapped up by first a Japanese porn, then some other thing, and now it just has a "for sale" sign slapped on it.

I check on it, because I still have and love that bowling shirt, even though it's a little tight, and I didn't want to be a billboard for a Japanese porn site. :D

If you want to shop from a low-credibility random online site and deal with the potentially time consuming fallout of submitting chargebacks, by all means.

With almost unlimited choice of established legitimate online stores, I don’t see the point…

@AvalanceRun - Perfect response!

There is so much abuse and fraud on the Internet. My instincts have kept me safe so far. For this website under discussion, I am a hard pass.
